Vladimir Melnikov

President and Head of Strategic Consultancy, Grayling Eurasia

Vladimir is the head of strategic consultancy and president of Grayling Eurasia. He is a very experienced communications and GR consultant with over 15 years’ experience developing and leading integrated communications and government relations campaigns and crisis communications in Russia and across CIS markets.
Vladimir joined Grayling in 2004 and since then was involved in most challenging projects including global communications support for Rosneft privatization, litigation campaign for Bank of New York Mellon vs. the Russian Customs, strategic government relations support for Novo Nordisk, Sanofi, MasterCard, etc.
After a period in state service, Vladimir started his career with the Vologda regional government in Russia, where he became Communications Director reporting directly to the Regional Governor; and during this time he was campaign manager for Putin’s Presidential Election campaign in 2000 and also ran gubernatorial election campaigns. In 2002 he joined RAO UES as foreign media relations secretary to Anatoly Chubais, the former Deputy Russian Prime Minister, who was CEO of the then Russian electricity monopoly.
Vladimir conducted trainings for CEOs of Russian representatives of multinational corporations such as IBM, Metro Cash and Carry, Bunge, Henkel, Heinz, TNK-BP, Lanxess, Johnson&Johnson, Rosatom, PayPal, Ikea, etc. He also prepared public appearances of Anatoly Chubais.
